Obituary

Jamie Rose Onion, age 70, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born on March 8, 1955, she was the daughter of the late James and Patricia (Bullhauver) Taylor. Jamie was a graduate of North Side High School, class of 1973. She worked as a union carpenter for over 20 years. She was also a bartender at el Azteca in Fort Wayne. When not working, Jamie loved spending time on Big Long Lake with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing softball for O'Sullivan's Bar.

Left to cherish her memory are her significant other, Ron Kemp and Scooter; son, Shawn (Judy Sizensky) Onion; grandchildren, Joseph (April Soe) and Ziggy Roze Onion; great-granddaughter, Elliana Rose Onion; siblings, Diana (David) Jennings, Patricia (Rick) Barrand, Tammy (George) Tucker, Ricky (Cindy Brown) Taylor, Angela (Joe) Larson, and Randy (Trish Renner) Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Jamie was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Kimberly Taylor; and grandparents, Rita and Bob Anderson, and Al and Zoe Taylor.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation for friends and family from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne following the service. Memorials can be written to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in Jamie's name. Condolences can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com for the family.
