Janel A, Ryan, 75, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024. She was born to the late Norbert and Angeline Weins. She attended Saint Peter Girls High School for three years in New York and then transferred to Cathedral Girls High School in San Diego, California, graduating in 1966. Janel was a 1970 graduate of the University of Saint Francis University and a 1977 graduate of Indiana University, MSE. Mrs. Ryan worked as a kindergarten teacher at Saint Joseph Central, Fort Wayne Community Schools, Saint Joseph & Saint Elizabeth Catholic School, and started a Preschool and Kindergarten in Geneva, Illinois at Saint Peter Catholic School. She then returned to Indiana working part time for Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic School. Following her time at Saint Vincent De Paul, she returned back to Illinois where she volunteered for 7 years at Saint Mary Catholic School in Sycamore. She is survived by her husband, Tom; daughter, Jen Ryan, Sarah (Arnold) Ma, and Megan (Matt) Gilbert; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Katherine, Henry, Mick, and Finn. Also preceding her in death were brothers, Jim Weins and John Weins. Mass of Christian Resurrection will be Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Saint Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 1502 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior.
