Obituary

Janice Boyle Krabach, 91, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday December 7, 2025. She was born March 31, 1934 in Springfield, Vermont, the daughter of the late Edward and Arlene (Souther) Boyle. Janice met her husband Norbert Krabach during his active duty with the U.S. Air Force in Burlington, Vermont. They were married on December 16, 1955, in Presque Isle, Maine, and then moved to Norbert's hometown of Fort Wayne.

Janice was a dedicated nurse for over 50 years, working first as a labor & delivery nurse at St. Joseph Hospital and then as an office nurse for Drs. Robert Musselman, Michael Musgrave and Robert Schleinkofer. She loved her Irish heritage, books, knitting, dolls, television, the Red Sox, her beloved Green Mountains of Vermont, and most especially her twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She had been a resident at St. Anne Home & Retirement Community since 2015.

In addition to her parents, Janice was also preceded in death by her husband Norbert; her sisters Judith (Clyde) Barton and Jeanne Rutkowski, both from Vermont.

Janice is survived by her four children, Timothy Krabach , Cathleen (William) Schalk, David (Dr. Susan Steffy) Krabach, and Daniel (Deborah) Krabach; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services are 2:00pm Wednesday December 17, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with interment to follow in Catholic Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Msgr. Tom Shoemaker from St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, where Janice had been a parishioner for many years. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Wednesday at the funeral home, and a family gathering to continue celebrating Janice's life with loving memories, is also being planned for a later date.  The family's preferred memorials are Healthier Moms and Babies, online at healthiermomsandbabies.org, or by mail to 1025 W.
