Jayne VanWinkle, 94, passed away on the 19th of August in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Jane and Anthony Panfil and grew up there. She married and moved to Fort Wayne where she had a robust and long career with Magnavox corporation and its successor companies. Her sharp wit, down to earth personality, work ethic, and integrity made Jayne a favorite amongst employees and company leadership. A sign of her drive and determination, at age 55, she received her associate degree from Purdue University. She retired in 1994. Jayne also became an active member of the community, including president of her subdivision’s homeowner’s association, board member of the Friends of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and volunteer at the Humane Society of Fort Wayne.

Jayne married Robert VanWinkle in Angola, Indiana. They had two daughters and were happily married for 43 years until his death after a long illness. Jayne was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling, volunteerism, and family gatherings and activities. She was also an unabashed dog-lover. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Panfil and is survived by her brother John (Mary) Panfil , loving daughters, Cheri (Dave) Rickert and Sue (Scott Summerville) VanWinkle along with two grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren as well as her beloved Yorkie-Poo, Rizzo.

A memorial service will be held in Fort Wayne at the Saint Anne Retirement Community, 1900 Randallia Drive, on Thursday, August 27th at 1:30PM with viewing at 12:30PM. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Friday, August 28th. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Fort Wayne Humane Society www.humanefw.org or Saint Anne Communities www.sacfw.org (hospice care) in memory of Jayne A. VanWinkle.
