Jerome F. “Jerry” Hipskind, 89, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday June 11, 2026. Jerry was born in Fort Wayne on November 12, 1936, the son of (the late) J. Henry and Frances (Casey) Hipskind. He graduated from Central Catholic High School with the Class of ’54 and earned his bachelor’s degree in 1958 from the University of Notre Dame. Jerry served his country with honor in the US Army and on November 14, 1959, Jerry married Margaret E. “Peggy” (Houlihan) Hipskind, who preceded him in death on August 16, 2013. He was also preceded by a son, Terry Hipskind in 1992; and by brothers Dave and Dan, and sisters Norma and Lois.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Mark (Nancy) Hipskind of Glenview IL, Chris (Maureen) Hipskind of Hinsdale IL, Jeff (Michelle) Hipskind of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was the CFO at Hipskind Asphalt, a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame athletics. Jerry stayed active and involved in the community, but his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family & friends.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Monday June 15, 2026 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Rd. with visitation in the church, from 10-11am. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
