Jerry D. Mitchell, 89, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday February 7, 2025 at Saint Anne Home & Retirement Community. He was born in Bluffton on August 28, 1935, the youngest of the eleven children of (the late) Harry and Elizabeth (Bennett) Mitchell. Jerry retired as a cost analyst for International Harvester/Navistar after 35 years with the company.  He was also a talented musician who played the piano & organ for several churches in the area around Bluffton and Ft.  Wayne.  In January, he donated the organ from his home to the Chapel at St. Anne Home for all to enjoy.  Jerry enjoyed the time spent with his family & friends; whether going out to eat or having friends over to his home. He was easy-going and well-liked; and he had a large circle of friends. Jerry also enjoyed boat rides on Irish Lake with his niece and her husband.

Jerry is survived by several nieces & nephews and also by his best friend & caretaker for the past four years, Ken Francis.  In addition to his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by all ten of his siblings.
