Jill E. Slater, 52, of LaGrange and formerly of Fort Wayne, died Sunday March 26, 2023 at Parkview Noble Hospital. Jill was born August 17, 1970, the daughter of (the late) Ned and Rita (Getty) Slater. She was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, the Jesters Theatre Group at the University of St. Francis, Special Olympics, Project Promise, the Social Club at the ARC of LaGrange Co, the All-Stars at the First Church of God and enjoyed writing poems. Jill cherished the time she spent with her family & friends, and especially enjoyed the time spent at Lake Witmer, fishing, swimming, paddle boating and all watersports. Jill is survived by her siblings, Ed (Stephen Brown) Slater of Cincinnati OH, Mike (Barb) Slater of Ft Wayne, Ann (Matthew) Warner of Elwood, Mary (Jeff) Harrington of Ft Wayne, Jeff (Becky) Slater of Edgewood KY, David (Julie) Slater of Ft Wayne, Janet (Nick) Mullins of Ft Wayne and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her parents, Jill was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Kathleen Slater. Funeral Services 2:00pm Friday March 31, 2023 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Visitation is Friday from 12-2pm at the funeral home. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
