It is with great sadness , that we announce the passing of Joan C. Weller, who left us peacefully on June 17, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on November 30, 1931, in New Haven, Indiana, to Ralph & Mildred (Blaising) Monnier. Joan spent her life in the Fort Wayne area, where she became a beloved member of the community.

In her early life, Joan was a stay-at-home mom and later in life, served as a Secretary of Media Processing for the Fort Wayne Community School Corporation, where she was known for her professionalism and kindness, retiring at the age of 74! After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, reading books, traveling with her sisters and family, and music.

Joan was a warm and loving mother to her four children: Jacqueline Weller (Bill), Michael (Tamara) Weller, Michele (Mark) Huneck, and Janine (Joseph) Steinbrunner, and a wonderful and loving “Mammie”, “Granny” and “JoJo “ to her six grandchildren, Jessica Sheets (Chris), Jacob Sliger (Collen), Madison Leonard (Allen), Kyle Habig (Ashley), Nicholas Habig (Mallory) and Brianna Steinbrunner and her five great-grandchildren. She meant the world to her children and grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She also leaves behind her siblings - Audrey Kirk, and Mary (Michael) Usher - who will remember her warmth, strength, and laughter.

A Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Joan's life at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 with visitation one hour prior at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church 4916 Trier Rd., Fort Wayne. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the public visitation at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 3:30 PM. Internment will follow the Mass at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Joan's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. We invite all who were touched by her spirit to join us in remembering a truly amazing and strong woman.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Mildred Monnier, her brother Karl Monnier, Sister-in-law Mary Monnier and her sister Marjorie McCurdy and brother-in-laws James McCurdy & Richard Kirk.
