Jodie Ann Jones, 67, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma. Jodie was a 1977 graduate of Northside High School and was a devoted lifelong member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, where she coached volleyball for many years. She also drove a school bus for FWCS for 20 years and prior to that, had a cleaning business. She was a good and faithful servant to our Lord, well known for always doing for others before herself and a friend to all she met. Jodie especially enjoyed her time spent with dear friends and family at Big Turkey Lake. She came from a large, close-knit family and was considered the strongest leader. Her engaging personality and infectious laugh drew so many people in who consider her their best friend or favorite aunt.
Jodie was born on November 16, 1958, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Raleigh and Georgean (Borkenstein) Myers. She married William "Bill" Jones on August 16, 1991, who survives.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Thomas Konger and Todd Konger, both of Fort Wayne, and Matt (Pam) Jones, of Carmel, Indiana; one daughter, Carrie (Kevin) Howard, of Fort Wayne; her mother, Georgean Myers, of Fort Wayne; her mother-in-law, Gloria Jones; four grandchildren; Landon and Carter Jones, Morgan (Zach) Booher, and Kora Howard; one great-grandson, Leo Paul Booher; two sisters, Janet (Jim) Niswonger, of Fremont, Indiana, and Joyce (Scott Lauer) Moss, of Fort Wayne; two brothers, John (Julie Keefer) Myers, and Joe (Laura) Myers, both of Fort Wayne; three sisters-in-law, Stacie Myers, Debbie (Dave) Berning and Jackie 'Katie" (Pete) Mahlock; numerous loving nieces and nephews plus an abundance of others who adored her. She was preceded in death by her father, Raleigh Myers; father-in-law, Jack Jones; one sister, Jeannie Lyons; one brother, James Myers; and a sister-in-law, Mary Myers.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Recitation of the Divine Mercy Chaplet will begin at 2:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 1515 Barthold Street, Fort Wayne, with Reverend David Ruppert officiating. Interment will take place in Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
