Joseph J. Perjak, age 91, passed away at home February 7, 2026.
He was born December 15, 1934 to Joseph M. and Victoria (Dubala) Perjak in Ashley, Illinois.
He graduated from Southern Illinois University with an associate's degree in business and worked as a controller in the grain and feed industry, then as a consultant, retiring at age 79.
He leaves behind Clara (Mansker) Perjak, his wife of 69 years; children, Therese (David) DeVilbiss, Clara (Craig) Hathaway, Ruth (John) Bates, and Joseph (Lori) Perjak; grandchildren, Ann (Birch Miller) DeVilbiss, Frank (Rongrong Wei) DeVilbiss, Sam Hathaway, Catherine Hathaway; and great granddaughter, Lucy DeVilbiss. He is also survived by his brother, Ray (Merry) Perjak; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe was a wonderful husband and father and made the most of his time on earth. He dearly loved his wife and family, was happy in his work, enjoyed many friendships, loved going to the lake and loved to go fishing. He will be greatly missed and long remembered.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 12 pm, with visitation beginning at 11 am, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Ft. Wayne, IN 46805.
