John F. Engle III, 73, of Fort Wayne, died Friday June 20, 2025 at Lutheran-Downtown Hospital. John was born in Fort Wayne on March 9, 1952, the son of (the late) John F. "Jack" Engle Jr. and Barbara (Swank) Engle. John was a Snider graduate who grew up around the hospitality industry. With his friendly and outgoing personality, it was only natural that he enjoyed the time he spent serving as a bartender to local patrons. John always appreciated relaxing with a leisurely look through the newspaper, but his greatest enjoyment was the time he spent with family & friends.

John is survived by his sisters, Cheryl (Larry) Schneider, Candace Taylor and Constance (Paul) Blackman, all of Fort Wayne; brothers, Joel Engle of Fremont, James (Renee) Engle of Avilla and Jeffery Engle of Fort Wayne; his late father's wife, Ruth Engle of Fort Wayne, and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his mother & father, John was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Engle and a sister, Cindy Meyers.

Funeral Services 2:00pm Friday June 27, 2025 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with visitation on Friday from 12-2pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
