John J. Janero, 74, of Fort Wayne, died at home on January 25, 2024. He was born in White Plains, NY, and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was best dad in the world but is now worshipping his heavenly Father. He wore many hats during his lifetime including coach, driving instructor, worship leader, provider, comforter, drummer, lead singer, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, and Husband. He was the lead singer and drummer in many bands throughout his life: Michigan Street Bridge, Life N Times, and most recently, Remember When and Timeline.

He served in the Air National Guard for 10 years. He worked at Falstaff Brewery until they left Fort Wayne in 1990. He then worked at Lincoln Foodservice for 18 years. He retired from Fort Wayne Metals in 2014.

He is survived by his daughters, Angela Janero of Fort Wayne, and Jessica Bise of Ossian. His sons, Tony (Jessica) Janero of Fort Wayne, Joseph (Emily Boner) Janero of Fort Wayne, and Thomas Janero of Decatur; grandchildren: Payge Sutton, Jadelyn Weikart, Isabella Janero, Cassie Boner, Bayleigh Bise, Rylee Bise, and Owen Janero; brother Edward M. (Mary Lou) Janero, of North Huntingdon, PA; and fiancé Lisa Gaff, of Columbia City, IN.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Susan (Suzi) Janero in 2017; his parents, Edward and Angelina Janero; daughter-in-law Kristen Janero, and grandson Xander Janero.

Funeral service will be 11 am on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Fort Wayne, IN with call 1 hour prior. Calling also 2 to 8 pm on Friday, February 2, 2024 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name, to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana (6316 Mutual Drive Fort Wayne, IN 46825).

John's favorite thing to wear was some form of Hawaiian shirt. The family will be wearing his actual Hawaiian shirts in his honor. As a tribute to his memory, feel free to wear a Hawaiian shirt to the funeral.
