John L. Lazaro, Jr., 47 passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.  John was a graduate of Northrop High School. He earned his amateur radio license in 2019 upgrading to a General class license in 2023. John was active in the Allen County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) and in that role assisted in communications at numerous community activities including the annual Ignite Trail 100K, 50K races, Huff 50K races and the Fort for Fitness bicycle events. He was an active member of the Allen County Amateur Radio Technical Society (ACARTS) and was the net control operator once a week for the Indiana-Michigan-Ohio 2-meter Traffic Net. He volunteered every year as Security Manager for the Fort Wayne Hamfest.  John was also the assistant  communications officer for Region 1 of the Indiana Oath Keepers.

John is survived by his many friends, who will miss him.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Gathering will be at 6pm, Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Coney Dog Cafe 357 Lincoln Highway, New Haven, IN.
