John Anthony Liberti, Sr., 81, of Fort Wayne and formerly of Syracuse IN, died Sunday August 9, 2026 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. John was born in Rochester NY on August 13, 1944, the son of the late Henricle Salvatore “Sam” Liberti and Sarah (Dowell) Liberti. He served his country proudly in the US Coast Guard and spent a lifelong career in automobile sales.

He is survived by his son, John Anthony “Tony” Liberti, Jr. of Syracuse IN; grandson, Christopher Liberti; sisters, Rose Liberti, Maria Brown and Cindy Petty. Also surviving are Althea Armie of Warsaw and Anthony Minnix of Huntertown.

In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by brothers, Timothy Liberti and Michael Liberti.
