Obituary

Joseph C. Seyfert, 77, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died March 27th, 2026 peacefully at his home while surrounded by his loved ones.

A graduate of Michigan State’s Food Science program, Joe channeled that knowledge into a lifetime career in the food industry. His passion started early while working for his father, Charles “Charlie” Seyfert at Seyfert’s Foods, where Joe eventually served as Vice President of Production. After moving his family to the country, Joe left the corporate world to become a small business owner. Joe and his wife, Sandy, owned and operated Willow Lake Farms and Custom Quality Meats of Fort Wayne and New Haven – a farm, custom butchery and meat processing business for 35 years.

Joe was a devoted husband of 50 years, father, and Grandpa. He was known by his friends and family for his dedicated work ethic and gentle nature. His curiosity was boundless, leading him to dabble in a variety of hobbies including piloting his airplane. Never rushed, he put thought and effort into everything he did - especially perfecting new recipes and products for his business. He will be remembered for his endless optimism, being an avid learner and for his love of sweet treats including Zesto Ice Cream and German chocolate cake, which he enjoyed on many birthdays.

Joe is survived by his wife, Sandy, and their three children: Sarah (Nick) Soulier, Charles J. Seyfert, and Amanda (Nathan) Seyfert-Halbach, and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Marilyn (Jack) Hasley, Sally (Albert) Lutz, John (Sandy) Seyfert, Gerald Seyfert, Susan (Bob) Seyfert-Mack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Agnes Seyfert, and siblings Charles V. Seyfert and Jim Seyfert.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 1986 W Cedar Canyons Rd, Huntertown.
