Julie Bermes, age 64, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, March 5, 2026.  Born on May 7, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Doris (Beckman) Bermes.  Julie worked at Bishop Dwenger High School, Parkview Hospital, and O'Reilly Auto Parts in Fort Wayne.

When not working, she enjoyed eating out and trying new restaurants.  She also liked to frame photographs.  Above all, Julie loved her family the most and taking care of her children and grandchildren was the primary focus in her life.  Her faith was also important to her, and she was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Fort Wayne.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Craig (Suzy) Darling II., Erica (Michael) Newton, Angie (Michael) Hicks, and Andrew (Katie) Biddle; grandchildren, Vannessa, Kyra, Christina, Raven, Haley, Gabriel, Mathius, Chase, Chloe, Isaiah, and Leah; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles "Chuck" Bermes, Jr. and Ricky Bermes; sisters, Diane Bermes, Rita Harness, Carol (Don) Clark, Debbie (Tim) Murphy, Patricia (Mark) Veerkamp, and Barb (Shane) Pickens; and numerous nieces and nephews. Julie was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Ariona Newton; grandson, Micah Biddle; and brother-in-law, Larry Harness.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation for friends and family from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
