Julie Meyers, age 46, of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on February 25, 2022.

Growing up, Julie spent many years participating in the Jesters program at the University of Saint Francis. Julie also attended many camps for disabled children, as well as volunteered at various camps around the country. Julie volunteered at the hospital as a teenager. Julie graduated from New Haven High School and later from Ball State University, where she obtained both a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Special Education.

In her adult years, Julie spent many years as a Special Education Teacher, while also being a foster mom to many children. Julie was heavily involved in Power Soccer at Turnstone Center and with her church. Julie has loved and cared for several pets over the years, most recently a dog and a cat.

Julie will be remembered for her positive outlook on life, her humor, her smile, her kindness, her enthusiasm, and her love of Komet hockey and children. She was an inspiration to so many.

Daughter of Paul and Therese (Terry) Meyers, sister of Jennifer Abbott (husband: Sam), and aunt of Sierra and Wyndam Abbott. Julie is also survived by her dear aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends.

Visitation will be 2:00-6:00 pm Friday, March 4, 2022, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
