Kandy Lee Rieser 73, passed away Wednesday May 16, 2018 at 2:18 am at Parkview Inpatient Hospice Center. She will be missed by many. She was a twin to David Glenn Patrick and an older sister to Robert Patrick and Stephanie. Kandy was a loving Mother to Leona Kay, Ladona Ann, Lori Lee and Aliya Lea. She was known as Mana to her Grandkids Kristina, Savana, Corey, Ladona Jr, Isabella and Trevor. Kandy was also a Great Grandmother to Precious, Melanie, Emilee and Ethan. She was also married to Joseph Rieser for 36 years in which they shared a mutual love and respect for each other and remained friends even after they parted ways.

Kandy was born on December 26, 1944 in Long Beach, California. She later moved to Missouri and lived a good life loving all that came across her path. She shared many experiences with those around her always teaching, guiding her loved ones along the way and trying to cheer up those around her without any judgement of others, while bringing a witty flare to her conversations. When Kandy was diagnosed with cancer she was a sounding board for her family and was always trying to keep their spirits up even though the diagnosis was terminal. A few of many things people would say about Kandy is that she worked hard in everything she did. From being a caring mother while working 40+ hours a week to working on the horse ranch in Bland, MO or the work she put into her arts and crafts.

Kandy worked as a chef, florist, animal caretaker and rescuer, dancer, patina finisher for AMF Billiards, eBay and Etsy storefront owner and even owned a cleaning business. She took pride in everything she did. She threw the best birthday parties and holidays by going above and beyond with the decorations, gifts and a delicious buffet of all made-from-scratch dishes.

Probably the most common characteristic everyone knew about Kandy is her unending love for animals as she loved them all (with exception of snakes). This was just part of Kandy’s personality to show love and compassion for every living thing. Every stray animal always had a home as it was not in her nature to turn her back on anyone or any animal that needed her.

Kandy will be missed by all her loved ones. She not only brought love and strength to those around her but also a compassion for life and a sarcastic wit we will all miss.
