It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Marie Ring, who left us peacefully on December 18, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on September 30, 1954, in Gary, Indiana, to Robert E. and Faye (Slininger) Ardell. Karen spent her life touching the hearts of those around her, especially during her years as a teaching assistant and preschool teacher. Her gentle spirit and genuine love for children made a difference in so many lives.

On November 22, 1975, she married Mark Joseph Ring.

Karen cherished her family above all else and is survived by her beloved daughter, Katherine Ring, and her son, Joseph (Elisabeth) Ring, and her five grandchildren (Ethan, Collin, Cheyenne, Lillian, Lucas). She had a way of bringing joy and laughter into every room she entered. Whether it was through her passionate work in education or her nurturing role as a mother, she will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings: Robert Ardell, Barry Ardell, Richard Ardell, Mary Katherine Ardell.

There will be a memorial service held at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 46748, at 3:00pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026. The family will receive relatives and friends at 2:00pm.
