Karen Ann Scherer 1957-2026 was born and died in Fort Wayne. She is proceeded in death by her father Melvin Scherer, mother Marie (Gebhard) Scherer, brother Stan Scherer and is survived by her sister Janiece Scherer.  Karen was a life tong Catholic graduating from Bishop Dwenger in 1976 and St Francis College with a Bachelors degree in Social Work. She also graduated from Medco University with an additional bachelor's degree in medical coding. Her internship was at Irene Byron Health Center and first job was at ARC of Fort Wayne. Karen moved to Bluffton to work for Park Center for the Bluffton-Decatur area for 15 yrs as a case manager for the mental ill. Her fields of social work varied thru out the years, with homeless at Otis Bowen Center and the current case management at (Dockside) Ctarvida. She also volunteered thru her lifetime including her favored Bluffton Panos Free Clinic. She had a love of people as welt as animals and had strong civil right beliefs to serve everyone equally. Her hobbies were animals, reading, old movies and spending time with her lifelong friends. The closeness and impact on her sister's life was enormous. May she find peace under the wings of the Lord.
