Kathy S.
Davis
March 1, 1952 – February 8, 2026
Kathy S. Davis, 73 of Fremont Indiana, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, February 8, 2026. Kathy was born March 1st, 1952, in Fort Wayne Indiana to Paul and Mary Lou Roberts.
Kathy was raised in New Haven on a small farm, where she developed her deep love for animals. Kathy had a passion for breading, raising, and showing dogs, she spent countless hours caring for and riding her Arabian mare (Kieka), learning to garden with her dad and to cook and bake with her mom. Kathy attended New Haven high school and graduated in 1970.
While attending high school, Kathy met the love of her life Gary, while working as a cashier at the local supply store; she told the story many times of how Gary was walking past the store front and thinking to herself, 'wouldn't it be nice to meet a boy like that'. Kathy was courted by Gary and they married June 12, 1971.
Kathy went on to work at ITT to support Gary's education while living in an apartment on Lake Avenue. Later Kathy and Gary purchased a farm home in Yoder, where they raised their three children. Kathy started as a dental hygienist before spending more than 20 years in banking while raising her family. Kathy and Gary frequented the lakes in Steuben County and were fortunate enough to purchase a cottage on Lake George's Spring Bank in 1985. In 2018 they built their dream home on Kopekanee Beach.
Kathy is survived by sisters Rosemarie (Dan) Roberts-Schlund, Kimberly (Jon) Roberts-Jackson, her daughter Jessica (David) Stachelski, Sons Jarret (Elizabeth) Davis, Ryan Davis, her seven grandchildren and their beloved cat, Tux.
Kathy was truly a remarkable and selfless person, when she wasn't with her family, baking for others or feeding the local wildlife, she was devoting her life to caring for countless family, friends, her church, and her community. Anyone who spent time with Kathy was blessed by her loving and caring outlook. It brings us joy knowing you and Dad are together again, we will all miss you dearly and we look forward to the day we are reunited.
