Kay R. Safford, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024.

She was born on April 10, 1954 in Fort Wayne to the late Raymond and Madonna (Huffman) Sanders.

Kay was a 1972 graduate of Central Catholic High School.

On March 3, 1973 in Fort Wayne she married the love of her life, Michael Safford. Together they raised three beautiful children, Miranda, Michael, and Andrew.

Mrs. Safford worked for U.S. Foodservice for 30 years and the went on to retire from Aunt Millies after 20 years.

She was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.

Kay enjoyed traveling, floating in the pool and reading.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Michael; children, Miranda (Jason) Stuller, Michael (DeeDee) Safford, Andrew (Sara) Safford; grandchildren, Kailee, Alexis, and Corbin; great-grandchildren, Oakley and Ivy Rose; and siblings, Kathy (Kim) Helmke, Kenny (Marilyn) Sanders, Kristy (Brent) Baker, and Kyle (Ramona) Sanders.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne. Calling will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2024 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Catholic Cemetery.
