Hartman
July 31, 1943 – July 6, 2025
Kenneth E. Hartman passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 81 and was reunited with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a devout Catholic and a long-time member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Fort Wayne. He was born on July 31, 1943, and the son of the late Edward A. and Emma F. Hartman. Kenneth was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1961 and Purdue University, West Lafayette, in 1965.
He loved telling his friends how his life changed significantly when he graduated from Purdue University on Sunday, June 6, when he started work at Navistar International on Monday, June 7, and married his college sweetheart, Margaret DeLucenay, on Saturday, June 19, all in 1965.
Kenneth was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and worked for 35 years at Navistar (International Harvester). He earned a Master of Science degree in Business Administration from IPFW in May 1979.
He and his wife enjoyed ballroom dancing and took lessons for over 13 years. They went on several cruises with Royal Caribbean, enjoyed Globus tours to the National Parks, and spent their winters in San Benito, Texas, at an RV Park where they learned square dancing and made many new friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Hartman, and his sister, Norma Jean Baker. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, sons Christopher and Mark (Lauren) Hartman, daughter Angela (Robert) Evans, and grandchildren, Aaron Kimbel and Cambria and Ryan Hartman.
The visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 4:30pm - 6:30pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown. There will be a rosary prayed at 4:00pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 11:30am at the funeral home, with an hour prior visitation. Burial will follow the service at Covington Memorial Gardens, 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne.
