Kostantinos George Arapios, known lovingly by many as "Gus," passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 12, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born on January 20, 1946, in Athens, Greece, Gus lived a life full of adventure, hard work, and love. As a young man, he worked aboard ships, traveling the world and seeing many countries. He proudly served in the Greek Navy, and after completing his service, returned to life at sea. His travels eventually brought him to the United States in the early 1960s, where he built a new life.

Gus worked as an industrial bridge painter - a trade that took him to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he met the love of his life, Nancy. Together, they raised a family rooted in strength, tradition, and generosity.

A passionate cook, Gus found joy in feeding anyone who walked through his door. His kitchen was always open, and his meals were a way of bringing people together - often around large gatherings filled with laughter and stories.

Gus is survived by his five daughters: Katina (James) Mahony, Fotene Arapios, Maria Arapios (Mark Leipold), Chrisula (Jeffrey) Kovach, and Vasiliki (Kyle) Hyland. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his legacy of warmth, resilience, and generosity.

He is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Nancy.

Gus's life was a testament to perseverance, hospitality, and love for family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne with calling from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m.
