Obituary

We are heartbroken to announce that Linda J. Anderson, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and cherished member of our community, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on March 19, 2026. She was born on July 5, 1963, in Portage, Michigan, to Gerald and Patricia (Bantz) Kroehn. Linda was 62 years old.

Linda was a true homemaker, pouring her heart and soul into her family and home. She was known for her warm spirit, kindness, and the countless moments of joy she brought to those around her. She had a special love for gardening and found peace and happiness tending to plants. Whether she was walking in the woods, working in her garden, or simply enjoying the beauty around her, she felt the presence of God, finding joy in his creation.

Her devotion to her family was unwavering. She took special pride in teaching her children to read at an early age and introducing them to the beauty of nature, sharing both knowledge and wonder with them. Linda was an active member and teacher at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and engaged in her community through a mothers’ support group, her children’s school and sports activities, and her local book club.

Linda had a gift for making the best of any situation. We loved her ability to laugh at herself, find humor in everyday life, and embrace every moment with a sense of fun. She loved comedy and music, having a quote or lyric for any situation. She was also known for trying to squeeze "one more thing" into the schedule. More than anything, she wanted others to have fun too, and she created a sense of joy and lightness wherever she went.

In addition to expressing her devotion to the Virgin Mary by frequently praying the rosary, Linda was a regularly scheduled adorer at the Oratory of St. Mary Magdalene. She believed fervently in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death. Her faith was the foundation of her life and a quiet strength that carried her through all things.

Linda is survived by her husband Eric, whom she loved dearly, and her children: Sean (Sarah) Anderson, Evan (Brenna Allard) Anderson, Annalise, Collin, and Brian Anderson; and by three grandchildren: Emma, Charlie, and Henry Anderson. She is also survived by her sisters: Susan (Gary) Neff, Julia Ryder, Annmarie Ryan, and Alethea Hatfield, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Linda's family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 46748. A rosary will be prayed at 4:30pm prior to the start of the visitation. A Mass will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, April 18, 2027, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1502 E. Wallen Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46825. There will be a one hour prior visitation at the church.

We invite everyone who knew Linda to join us in remembering the light she brought into our lives. Memorial contributions may be made to Right to Life of Northeast Indiana and Acres Land Trust.

In my estimation, all that we suffer in the present time is nothing in comparison with the glory which is destined to be disclosed for us.
