Obituary

Our devoted and sweet mother, grandmother and great grandmother Linda Marie (Jacquay) Glaze was called home and reunited with the love of her life Ray Arthur Glaze on August 16, 2024. Born in Zulu, Indiana she was the oldest daughter of the late Bernon and Agnes (Reuille) Jacquay. She was a strong woman of faith and long-term parishioner of St. Louis Besanson Catholic Church in New Haven.

To know Linda was to love her. She was tiny in stature and BIG in her love for others. Her love was shown in her cooking and baking of brownies, beef & noodles and cookies, hugs, prayers and being a cheerleader to those who needed to be lifted up. Linda was a feisty lady and had the ability to beat you in a board game or card game like Euchre, Canasta or Aggravation with a big grin on her face.

Her loved ones will remember her for the beautifully straight cursive hand-written birthday cards (with her famous $2 bills) and the anniversary and holiday cards that she faithfully sent every year. She was always there with a loving note of praise and support for anyone who needed a pick-me-up.

Linda had an amazing green thumb, especially flowers of all kinds as her flower gardens were always her pride and joy. She enjoyed embroidery and crocheting and sharing her beautiful work with many family members. Linda was a great softball player as a pitcher until the age of 45.

She and Ray were deep models of faith and a loving marriage. They would say the rosary every night and she faithfully continued this practice until she was no longer able.

Linda is survived by her children; Christine Williams of New Haven, Gordon (Michele) Glaze of Manor, Texas; sister Kay (Bob) Mattingly of New Haven; grandchildren, Eric Theisen of Austin, Texas, Sarah (Joby) Jennings of Aurora, CO, Brittney (Nick) Sorg of Woodburn, IN, Taylor (Bret) Gage of Huntertown, IN, Daniel (Ana) Glaze of Sugar Land, Texas, Patrick (Allyson) Glaze of Tyler, Texas and 16 beloved great grandchildren: Mabel, Callum, Charlotte, Oliver, Graham, Delilah, Rosie, Marshal, Cooper, Piper, Presley, Lily, Danny, Emma, Sofia and Stephen. Plus endless extended family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband Ray Glaze of nearly 60 years; her daughter and son-in-law Becky and Ken Theisen; her four brothers, John, Stan, Joe and Ron Jacquay and her parents Bernon and Agnes Jacquay.
