Louis L. Meek, 85, of Fort Wayne, died Monday January 15, 2024. Lou was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on August 17, 1938, the son of (the late) James and Esther (Listenburger) Meek. When Lou was young, his mother was injured in an accident, and he was cared for by (the late) Glenn and Lorraine Mulherin during her recovery; a very special relationship that lasted a lifetime. After High School, he continued his education and earned his degree; he then served in the US Army Reserves during the Vietnam Conflict era. On February 24, 1968, Lou married Barbara (Coomes) Meek; Barb survives along with their children, Jennifer (Darell) Hatton of New Haven and Christopher (Rachel) Meek of Fort Wayne and their grandchildren, Lauren, Jordan, and Molly Sargent, all in New Haven and Hunter, Andrew and Olivia Meek, all in Fort Wayne. Lou is also survived by his sister, Gail (George) Benilla in Hawaii and his nieces & nephew.

Lou was self employed in the field of Industrial Abrasive Sales, as well as the owner of Jiffy Wash Laundry in Waynedale for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, and enjoyed the time spent with his family & friends, fishing or following the Cincinnati Bengals and IU Basketball. Lou was a loving husband, father & grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Resurrection is 11:00am Monday January 22, 2024 in St. Henry Catholic Church, 2929 E. Paulding Rd. with visitation from 10-11am in the church. Visitation is also on Sunday from 3-6pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. The family's preferred memorials are to St. Henry's Food Bank or Masses.
