Obituary

Madelaine Adair, age 101, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in her home.  Madelaine was a devoted farm wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She also worked for the local telephone company and Speigels in Chicago. She was a member of Our Hope Lutheran Church in Huntertown, the Fort Wayne Firefighters Women's Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the VFW.

Madelaine Adair was born on July 12, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, the youngest of eleven children, to Nels and Grace (Strand) Pearson.  She married Glenn Adair on December 2, 1950, in Fort Wayne, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2006.

Survivors include one son, Mitch (Annette) Adair, of Huntertown; one daughter, Jan (Bob) Sadler, of Churubusco; and twelve grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home from 4:00-8:00 P.M. 1986 West Cedar Canyons Road, Huntertown. Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Hope Lutheran Church, 1826 Trinity Rd. Huntertown with Reverend Roger James officiating.  The family will also receive visitors for one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the church. Interment will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Our Hope Lutheran Church or to the family.
