April 8, 1930 – August 30, 2024
Marilyn Eugenia Ambrose, 94 of Fort Wayne passed away Friday, August 30, 2024 at Parkview Randalia Hospice. Born April 8, 1930 she was the daughter of the late John and Flossie (Secrest) Tracy of Fort Wayne. Marilyn was a graduate of Central High School of Fort Wayne, Class of '48. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Keith Ambrose and her son Stephen Ambrose.
Marilyn learned to play piano, accordion and organ at a very young age. A natural talent, she entertained the residents of Fort Wayne community with her playing for over 70 years, literally right up until the last year of her life. She worked with Audiences Unlimited playing for funerals, weddings, schools and health care facilities. She played organ and piano for various churches in Fort Wayne, most recently for Agape Church of the Brethren. And the greatest thrill of her life was having the honor of playing the Page Organ at the Embassy Theatre for many the years.
Marilyn also worked for over 20 years at International Harvester of Fort Wayne as secretary to the Superintendent of Inspection and the last 10 years in Time Keeping. She worked right up until they blew the company whistle for the last time.
In her spare time Marilyn was a member of the Daughters of the American Colonists.
Keith and Marilyn also enjoyed square dancing as a past time and a bit of exercise.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Kerry Ambrose of Greenleaf, WI, Kevin (Louise) Ambrose of Fort Wayne. Grandchildren; Rachel, Aimee, Daniel, Emily, Kelsey, Jonathan and Austin. Great Grandchildren; Dora, Evan, Nate, William, Chloe, Sam, Connor, Ellie and Archer.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7pm on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, 46805. Funeral service on Saturday, September 7 at 10:00am at Fort Wayne Agape Church of the Brethren, 11610 Lima Rd, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
