Marion L. Gerardot, 92, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. Born October 31, 1932, he was the son of the late William and Agnes (Linder) Gerardot. He was a graduate of New Haven High School Class of 1952. Marion honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Rose (Fox) in 1975. They spent the next 49 years together, building their life in Fort Wayne. Marion worked for International Harvester for 29 years until his retirement in 1994. When not working, Marion enjoyed working with tools, playing cards (especially poker and euchre), and traveling. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47.

Marion will be remembered as an honest, reliable and dependable person. He was a wonderful father to all his children and an absolute "rock" as a husband. The way he lived his life by taking care of everyone around him will be his legacy. He will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rose Gerardot; daughters, Victoria (Jim) Thompson, Annette Meggison, Deanne Gerardot, Sandra Parks, and Angela (Rick) Hendrickson; stepchildren, Laura (Jerry) Leonard, William (Dawnda) Van Patten, Dawn M. Van Patten, and Gerald Van Patton; 16 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. Marion was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rita Bredemeyer, Colette Aspacher, Audrey Miller, and Twila Rose Gerardot Weber; brother, Rodger Gerardot; stepbrother, Herman Linder; stepson Michael Van Patten; and grandchildren, Faith Marie Main and Blake Van Patten.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with military honors rendered at 4:00 p.m.  Memorials can be written to the family of Marion Gerardot.  Condolences can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com.
