December 24, 1932 – February 2, 2025
Mary Louise O'Keeffe, 92, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at St. Anne Home. Born on December 24, 1932, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Zelinski) Gobinski. Mary Lou worked for the Dioceses of Fort Wayne-South Bend as the purchasing manager for 33 years. When not working, she enjoyed playing bridge, being with her favorite dog, Shacka Kahn, and occasionally a good glass of wine. Mary Lou was an excellent cook and was known for her cheesecakes. She loved the theatre and loved to dance, in fact, her favorite song was "Dancing Queen." Mary Lou was a woman of endless talent. She will be remembered as a good mother, sister, daughter, and friend, and will be dearly missed. Her faith was important to her and she was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Mary Kathryn (Robert) O'Keeffe-Null and Thomas O'Keeffe; grandson, Ian Joseph Schwartz; sisters, Joan (Fred) Rovet and Judith (John) Fremer; numerous nieces and nephews; and Godchildren, Nicole Gobinski Goetz and Fredrick Rovet. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph O'Keeffe; her parents; brother, John (Lena) Gobinski; and niece, June Ellen Fremer Mirassou.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Drive, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Memorials can be written to Turnstone (www.turnstone.org) in Mary Lou's name. Condolences can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com for the family.
