Maurice C. Linder, 96, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday December 17, 2025 at The Waters of Fort Wayne. He was born in Payne, OH on September 15, 1929, the son of the late John W. and Anna (Schall) Linder. After graduation from Payne High School, Maurice served his country proudly in the US Army, the majority of his service spent stationed in Japan. He later completed his studies by earning a degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue. He married Violet (Bobay) Linder on November 23, 1957. He is survived by his wife; their children, Dennis (Rita) Linder of Fort Wayne, Maureen Linder of Doylestown, PA, Ronald Linder of Fort Wayne, Sandra (Gary) Martindale of Carmel, and Barbara (Thomas) Richter of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Maurice was also preceded in death by his siblings, Catherine Gonya, Marie Linder, Genevieve Wilson, Josephine Huegenard, Rita Linder, Sr. Helen Linder, Sr. Jean Linder, Rosemary Perrine, Theresa Baumle, and James Linder.
Maurice was a longtime member of St. Charles Borromeo parish and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He retired in 1985 as an Electrical Project Engineer for Rea Magnet Wire after 27 years with the company.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Tuesday December 23, 2025 in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd, with visitation from 9:30-10:30am in the church. Visitation is also Monday from 4-8pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary at 3:30pm. Burial is in Catholic Cemetery. The family's preferred memorial is for Masses.
