Maynard F. Richter, 94, passed away Sept. 3, surrounded by family. Born in Garrett, In., he graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School. He was married to the love  of his life, Jeanne, for 72 years before her passing in 2023. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. After retiring from GTE, he and Jeanne resided in New Smyrna Beach, Fl., for 30 years before moving back to Ft. Wayne. Two sons proceeded him in death: infant son William and Gregory (Debra) Richter. Surviving him are sons Mark (Viviana) Richter and Jim (Janet) Richter; daughters Susan (Jim) Fox, Peg (Dave) Murray, Lisa (Gary) Wilson and Linda (John Rezendes) Kerley; as well as 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, September 13, 2024 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46815. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the mass. Inurnment will take place at 1:00 PM on Friday at Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne, IN 46805.
