Obituary

On September 03, 2025, Mi Thida (55) of Fort Wayne, Indiana peacefully passed away in her loving home surrounded by her immediate family and loved ones. Mi Thida, born on April 16, 1970 in Hnipadaw, Mudon of Myanmar, was a loving and selfless daughter to Tha Piea and the late Daw Chit. Throughout Mi's life she had endured many struggles including leaving a country suffering from political and economic turmoil. The choice she made was selfless as she had to leave the only home she had ever known, family, and known language in trade of the opportunity to ensure the safety and best chance of success for her children and husband.

Despite the challenges and obstacles in her life she kept a spirit of perseverance all while keeping her heart open and taking time to care for and share what she had with others. She was a mentor and cheerleader for all her friends, family, and even strangers. Mi succeeded in raising three children who are all college graduates.

Mi enjoyed cooking for her family/friends and living a pious life, focused on charity and aiding those in need. She was a devout Buddhist and shared her passion with her children and husband. She will be remembered fondly for her strong will, kindness, and generosity. Mi had a fun spirit that will be missed dearly by friends and family.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 36 years, Naing Win; children, Khin Win, Aye Min, and Than Win; her beloved dog, Minki Win; her father, Tha Piea; 7 siblings; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.  Mi was preceded in death by her mother, Daw Chit, and a baby boy.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation for friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Condolences can be left at www.divinemercyfuneralhome.com for the family.
