Michael
Kacprowicz
March 22, 1962 – January 1, 2025
With profound sadness, we share that Mike Kacprowicz, 62, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born to Adam and Pearl (Stine) Kacprowicz. Mike's greatest passion was working with cars. He began working in the automotive industry as the "oil-change guy" over 40 years ago and worked his way up to the Shop Foreman; Mike took tremendous pride with his high level of proficiency in his career. He spent over 35 years at Mercedes-Benz of Fort Wayne and leaves behind many dear friends at the dealership. He looked forward to the annual "Happy Kappy" family trips, joining in on all of Sharon's wild adventures with their kids. His fondest memories were getting stuck on the tollway in France with "Wreck it Ralph", biking the Hiawatha in Montana, and hiking the Beehive in Maine. He also loved celebrating his 40th wedding anniversary with Sharon in 2024 and the recent weddings of Zach (Kelly) and Nick (Brianna). Mike enjoyed his time with street outreach, connecting in conversation with those he served. He had a way of making people feel comfortable through conversation; his early morning coffee chats and big bear hugs will be missed.
Mike is survived by his mother; Pearl Kacprowicz, wife; Sharon Kacprowicz, sons; Zach (Kelly) Kacprowicz and Nick (Brianna) Kacprowicz, grandson; Maxwell Gater, and expected granddaughter; Koet Kacprowicz, sisters; Rosalie (Mark) Day, Patricia (Steven) Danalds, Margaret Colgan, Darlene (William) Jacobs and Dianna (Jeffrey) Danalds, sisters-in-law; Christine Emerick, Denise Fanger, Laura Rudd and Nancy Reinhardt (Tom Manatine), brothers-in-law; Michael (Sara) Ley, James Ley, Steven (Sharlene) Ley and Patrick (Cathy) Ley. Mike was preceded in death by his father; Adam Kacprowicz, daughter; Victoria Grace Kacprowicz, brothers-in-law; Floyd Colgan, Bruce Emerick, Jerry Fanger and Kenneth Rudd.
