Michael W. Klein, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on October 4, 1942 in Fort Wayne to the late Willis and Evelyn (Sutton) Klein.

Mike was a 1960 graduate of Central Catholic High School and then went on to graduate from Indiana University Bloomington.

On April 16, 1966 in Fort Wayne he married Joan Schultheis.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, where he was stationed in Germany.

Mr. Klein worked in IT for Lincoln Life and then retired from IBM. He also volunteered with AARP.

Mike was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

In his free time, Mike loved computers, was an avid sports fan, loved old movies, but, most of all, he loved his family and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; and children, Amy (Verne) Klein Cummings and Matthew (Amy) Klein; grandchildren, Lucy, Grace, John, Aiden, Michaela, Ryan, and Drew; and a sister, Carol (Mark) Herrberg.

Also preceding him in death was a brother, Tom Klein.

Mass of Christian Resurrection will be Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
