Michael "Mike" Patrick Langin, age 60, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away at home, surrounded by family on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Born on January 18, 1964, he was the son of the late Patrick and Diane (Recht) Langin. Mike was a graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School. He worked as a Senior Lab Technician at Steel Dynamics. He was an avid collector of all things associated with Fort Wayne brewing history. He was not just a collector; he could be described as a historian. Mike's passion for his collection was a direct reflection of his family's history of working in the Fort Wayne brewing industry since the early 1800s. He belonged to three national organizations that focused on brewing history including the Brewery Collectibles Club of America (BCCA), the National Association of Breweriana Advertising (NABA) and the American Breweriana Association (ABA). He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Fort Wayne.

Above all else, he deeply loved being a grandfather to his grandchildren and, enjoying every minute he spent with them. Joy surrounded him when he was with them, and he felt compelled to teach his grandchildren all that he could. Mike will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his kind heart. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met. Even the shortest of conversations with him were impactful. Most importantly, Mike will be remembered as a loving husband and father. His absence in the lives of his family will be felt every day.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca Langin; sons, Ricky, of Fort Wayne and Eric, of St. Joe, IN; 15 grandchildren, Gabi, Madie, Elyssa, Abby, Gio, Cora, October, Silas, Katherine, Eric Jr., Chloe, Riley, Aaron, Violet, and Evie; siblings, Kathy (Russ) Werling, Bill (Carrie) Langin, and Joanne (Brad) Houser; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler; granddaughter Amelia, his parents; and his brothers, James and John Langin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr., Fort Wayne (46805) with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne (46805) with a Rosary recited at 2:30 p.m. Memorials can be written to the Indiana ALS Association in Mike's name.
