Michael J. Laughlin, age 90, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully, surround by family on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at St. Anne Retirement Communities. Born on March 1, 1936, he was the son of the late Earl and Pauline (Leis) Laughlin. Michael was a 1954 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He worked as a factory worker for over 30 years until his retirement in 1998.
When not working, Michael enjoyed watching Westerns on television. He was devout in his beliefs and was a long-time member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. His daily life revolved around his unwavering faith, praying the Rosary and attending Mass every day. Above all, Michael loved his children and grandchildren very much. He will be remembered as someone who loved the Lord and lived his life for others.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Patrick (Kris) Laughlin, Tony (Michelle) Laughlin, and Peter (Stacey) Laughlin; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Sally Lill; sisters-in-law, Carol (Russ) Hare and Cindy Roth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Monica Laughlin; his parents; sisters, Mary Schnelker and Patricia Alt; and brothers-in-law, John Alt, Tom Lill, Phil Schnelker, and David Roth.
A Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 1105 S. Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802 with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at St. John Catholic Cemetery in New Haven. Memorials can be written for Mass Intentions at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Michael’s name.
