It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Dennis Rorick, who left us peacefully while sleeping on July 16, 2026, at the age of 49. He was born on January 16, 1977, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Patricia (Berg) Rorick and Dennis Rorick.

Mike graduated from Bishop Luers High School in 1995 and again from Indiana University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in business. He was united in marriage to Allison Luck on May 22, 1999. Their 27-year union saw the birth of Samuel Rorick in 2001.

After completing his college degree Mike joined United Parcel Service full-time after initially working part-time with UPS in Jacksonville, Florida. He was successful in numerous roles, including management level positions, during his 25-year career with the company, including his most recent role in the sales department.

Mike was the consummate Notre Dame fan and was not shy about letting everyone know. His highlight moment had to be prior to an away game in East Lansing, Michigan, when in full ND gear, the MSU band director allowed Mike to lead their band in a rehearsal of the Notre Dame Victory March! Only Mike Rorick could pull that off.

Besides Mike’s “day job” he was a handy man’s “handy man.” Need some concrete work done, check. Need trees trimmed or removed, check. Need a deck built, check. Need a whole house remodel, including carpentry, plumbing, and electrical, check. Other than the occasional round of golf and seasonal walnut harvesting, these were Mike’s hobbies. He enjoyed these types of challenges/opportunities because he was helping others utilize his various talents. He will be sorely missed.

Mike is survived by his wife, Allison, his son Sam, Sam’s fiancé, Allyssa Seifert, his parents, Pat and Dennis, his in-laws Joanne and Michael Howell, his brothers, Chris (Jamie) and Joe (Jessica), his sister, Katie (Donny) Mullins and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

To honor Mike's life, a celebration of his life will be held at the Rorick Residence, 3949 Goeglein Rd., Fort Wayne, IN, 46815, from 1:00pm-4:00pm on Saturday, August 8, 2026. We invite everyone who knew him to join us in paying tribute to a truly wonderful man. The family asks that if you have any Notre Dame apparel, that you wear it to the celebration.
