Michael Joseph Wies, age 72, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in his home surrounded by his family after an extended illness. Michael was a 1971 graduate of Bishop Luers High School and a certified electrician. He was employed by Mid-America Sign for thirty years and then by Indiana Stamp for seven years until the closing of the plant. He was also a longtime maintenance man for Rock Tavern in Fort Wayne. He enjoyed riding his Harley and working on electrical projects. His family and friends were important to him, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Michael Joseph Wies was born in Quebec, Canada, on May 28, 1953, the son of Joseph Chester and Phyllis (Moulin) Wies, Jr. He married Cheryl D. Slater on June 8, 2008, in Fort Wayne and she survives.

Also surviving are Linda (Clayton) Wies and Kristy (Sergio) Ramon, who were like daughters to him, his sister-in-law, Cindy Slater and brother-in-law, Steve Slater, a niece and nephew Rose and Greg Lee, his niece that he called his little bug, Danyel Malott, his little side kick, Jamari, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 4:00-5:00 P.M. in Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne.

A service will follow at 5:00 P.M. in the Divine Mercy Funeral Home, Fort Wayne.
