Some people leave an impression wherever they go. Mona Sue Hoeppner-Carmean left a piece of her heart with everyone she met. Her radiant smile, infectious laugh, warm embrace, and unwavering faith made people feel seen, valued, and deeply loved. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she shared and the lives she touched will continue to shine for generations.

Mona entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 27, 2026, at the age of 58.

Mona was born on May 31, 1968, in Miami County, Indiana, to Michael A. and Linda C. Hoeppner. She was a woman whose life was defined by her deep faith in God, her boundless love for others, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

For nearly twelve wonderful years, Mona shared a beautiful marriage with her devoted husband, Jeff Carmean. Their wedding anniversary, July 19, was a day they both treasured each year—a celebration of the love, laughter, faith, and unwavering commitment they shared. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, friendship, and countless cherished memories. Mona was an extraordinary "STOM" (Stepmom) to her beloved stepdaughter, Kyleigh Carmean, whom she loved as her own. She was a constant source of guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love, helping Kyleigh navigate the challenges of adulthood with wisdom, compassion, and unwavering support. She also stood faithfully beside Kyleigh during her courageous battle with cancer, celebrating with immeasurable joy when that battle was won. Mona was equally devoted to her cherished fur babies, affectionately earning the title of proud "helicopter mom."

One of Mona's greatest blessings was the lifelong bond she shared with her sister, Michelle Houlihan. Their relationship was built on unconditional love, unwavering support, countless laughs, and an unbreakable friendship that only sisters can know. Through every season of life, they stood beside one another, celebrating life's joys and carrying one another through its challenges.

Michelle’s husband Dennis (Denny) Houlihan was far more than a brother-in-law to Mona—he was the brother she never had. Their relationship was filled with love, respect, laughter, and an easy friendship that made him family in every sense of the word. Together, Michelle and Dennis were a constant source of love, strength, and support throughout Mona's life, and she treasured the countless memories they shared.

Mona worked as a Sales Administrator at Rudd Heavy Equipment, where her professionalism, kindness, and positive spirit made a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

To know Mona was to experience genuine love in action. She never met a stranger—everyone she encountered became a friend. Her excitement when greeting someone was heartfelt, and whether you had known her for years or had just met her, she had an extraordinary gift for making you feel like you were the only person in the room. She was fiercely loyal, incredibly giving of her time, and always willing to help without expecting anything in return.

Mona loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, and making memories with those she loved. Every holiday season, she was often the one leading the charge to bless a family in need, quietly reminding others what compassion and generosity truly looked like.

Above all else, Mona's faith in God guided every aspect of her life. She lived with grace, kindness, and a servant's heart, trusting God's plan even through life's challenges. While her family grieves the tremendous void left by her passing, they find comfort in knowing that the reunion she longed for has come to pass, and she is now joyfully reunited with her father in the presence of her Savior.

Mona's legacy is not measured by accomplishments or possessions, but by the countless lives she touched through her kindness, unwavering faith, generous spirit, and unconditional love. She had a remarkable way of making every person in the room feel like they mattered, and that extraordinary gift will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing that Mona is now whole, at peace, and embraced by the Savior she loved so deeply. The love she gave so freely, the hugs that made everything feel better, the laughter that filled every room, and the faith that guided her life will remain with us always.

The greatest way to honor Mona is to love others as she did—with open arms, a generous heart, unwavering faith, and a spirit that makes every person feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Mona leaves behind her loving husband, Jeff Carmean; her cherished stepdaughter, Kyleigh Carmean; her mother, Linda C. Hoeppner; her beloved sister, Michelle Houlihan, brother-in-law, Dennis Houlihan and half-brother Jeramie Miller; along with countless family members, dear friends, coworkers, and all whose lives were forever changed by knowing her. She was preceded in death by her beloved father, Michael A. Hoeppner.

Services for Mona will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home-Cedar Canyons, 1986 W. Cedar Canyons Rd., Huntertown, IN 46748. A time of visitation will be take place from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and again from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. A service will follow the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Perfect Paws Pet Rescue.
