Monica Meyers, age 68, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 26, 2024. Born on June 6, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Phyllis (Conroy) Avila. Monica was a graduate of North Side High School and Purdue University. Her family was her whole life. She dearly loved her husband, her children and her grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them. Monica enjoyed vacationing at Lake Secrist, caring for her cats, going on walks, and avidly discussing politics. She will be dearly missed by family and friends alike. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 41 years, Jim Meyers; daughter, Rachael C. Meyers; son, Ben (Julie) Sykes of Frisco, TX; granddaughter, Ruby C. Hahn; grandson, Preston Sykes; 9 siblings; and mother-in-law, Carole Meyers. Monica was preceded in death by her son, James Meyers II; her parents; nephew, Matthew Miller; and great-niece, Alexa Cook.

A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 with visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be written to Humane Fort Wayne, www.humanefw.org in Monica's name.
