Nancy J. Kime, 78, of New Haven, died Thursday September 19, 2024, at St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne. Nancy was born February 18, 1946, in Defiance OH, one of the 18 children born to (the late) Irvin and Lucille (Westrick) Kime. She received her master's degree in education; she spent 15 years in the convent with the Sisters of Notre Dame; the next 15 years as a teacher in the Toledo Diocese and another 15 years teaching in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. Nancy was a charismatic member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and was devoted to the Adoration of the Holy Eucharist, and praying faithfully, often referred to as the "Prayer Warrior". She enjoyed reading and had a love of art; she could often be found drawing or honing her use of color.
Nancy is survived by 4 brothers, Francis Kime, Peter Kime, Thomas Kime, and Paul Kime; 7 sisters, Sr. Lucille Kime, S.N.D., Janet Zern, Margaret Kohne, Kathryn "Katie" Langschied, Linda Meek, Anita Kime, Ann Fockler and a host of nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Richard Kime, David Kime & James Kime; 3 sisters, Barbara Hahn, Patricia Kime, and Mary Morris.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Saturday, September 28, 2024 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St, New Haven, with visitation from 10-11am in the church.
