With great sadness, the family of Nancy Ann Westendorf, 61, of Leesburg and formerly of Fort Wayne, announce her passing on November 24, 2023.

Nancy was the 5th of 9 children of Dorothy Evelyn and Joseph Neil Westendorf. She was born with Down Syndrome, but that didn't worry her one bit. She graduated High School from Cardinal Center and being a fast runner, participated in the Special Olympics. She also loved to swim - even skied a time or two - loved to dance, read, latch hook, oil paint, do word finds, and was a great help holding and comforting her many newborn nephews and nieces, giving her sisters some much-needed rest. What her family will remember most is her sweet smile, infectious laugh, and her many hilarious "Nancy sayings." She was simply an angel and gentle spirit all of her 61 years.

Nancy is survived by her father, Joseph Westendorf; brother Doug Westendorf; 4 sisters, Deb Westendorf, Kim (Don) Trammel, JoAnn (Jeff) Brown, Michelle (Chris) Davis; 17 nephews and nieces; 27 great-nephews and nieces; 4 great-great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Westendorf; 2 sisters, Laura Westendorf and Barbara (Westendorf) Essig; a brother, Joey Westendorf; and sister-in-law, Beverly Westendorf.

A gathering of family & friends is scheduled for 11:00am Thursday November 30, 2023 at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. followed by Graveside Services at 11:30am in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, IN.
