Nina Doina Grill, 87, of Fort Wayne, passed away Sunday July 26, 2026. She was born on October 22, 1938, in Dumbraveni, Romania. Nina was the daughter of (the late) Dr. Emil and Mary (Derloshon) Bendorfeanu. She lived with her family for the first 12 years of her life in Romania. On January 19, 1963, Nina married Edward E. Grill, who preceded her in death on April 12, 2021, after 58 years of marriage. In addition to her parents and her husband, Nina was also preceded by her son, Tommy, and her brother, Edi Bendorfeanu.
She is survived by her daughters, Theresa (Neal) Godfrey, and Sherri (Steve) Horine; grandchildren, Vanessa (Joe) Vincent, Marissa and Karissa Godfrey, Mary and Sam Horine, all of Fort Wayne.
Nina was the founder of Charmaine Models and Talent. She taught personal development, modeling, and acting to men, women, and children. Nina placed her models and actors on talent bookings locally and regionally. Many individuals went on to find success nationally and internationally. She inspired so many people over her wonderful life.
Nina loved her family and enjoyed supporting her grandchildren at their school functions and various sporting events, especially volleyball, as well as watching them perform in dance recitals, show choir and band. Seeing their many accomplishments brought her joy during her life. Nina enjoyed modeling, shopping, and holiday celebrations.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday, August 3, 2026, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd. with visitation from 9:30 -10:30am in the church. Visitation is also on Sunday, August 2, from 1pm - 4pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. Nina will be laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery. The family’s preferred memorials are Masses.
