Obituary for William Oneal Trigg
April 12, 1940 – May 30, 2025
William Oneal Trigg Sr., affectionately known as "Oneal," sang his last song and entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 2:30 a.m.
Born on April 12, 1940, in Sturgis, Kentucky, Oneal was the beloved son of the late Ex and Eva Trigg. He accepted Christ at an early age, laying the foundation for a life marked by faith, music, and service to others.
Oneal spent many dedicated years working as a car detailer, known for his strong work ethic and pride in a job well done. His passion for helping youth led him to volunteer with little league baseball, where he made a lasting impact on many young lives. He later went on to serve as a security guard, continuing to work with integrity and care.
A gifted tenor, Oneal shared his love for music as a longtime member of the gospel singing group The Golden Bells. Whether on stage or in everyday life, his voice was a source of inspiration and joy. He was known to burst into song at any moment—while working, driving, or fellowshipping with others. He especially cherished gospel and old-school blues, both of which stirred his soul and reflected his rich musical spirit.
Cherishing his memory are his children: William Trigg Jr., Cindy "Molly" Trigg, and Brian Wims; stepchildren: Anesta Taylor and Jeffrey Phillips Sr.; his loving sister, Cora Robinson; three grandchildren, Brooke Trigg, Oneida Rogers and Durea Rogers; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever remember his voice, his humor, and the love he shared so freely.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ex and Eva Trigg; eleven brothers and sisters; and one grandson, Jeremey Trigg Sr.
Though Oneal's earthly song has ended, his melody continues in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
"Sing unto the Lord a new song; for He hath done marvelous things." – Psalm 98:1
