After a lengthy illness, Patrick William Furniss, age 70, died May 9, 2026. He was born in Fort Wayne to the late William Furniss and Ruth (Kiep) Furniss. Pat graduated from New Haven High School and was employed by Jamison Meats most of his life. He said, “It wasn’t a job because it was so much fun!” Pat most recently resided at St. Anne Home & Retirement Community. He made many kind and tender connections there with both the staff and residents. Pat was funny, charming and made friends wherever he was. He made sure others were seen and loved and he received that love back from all those who knew him. Pat loved the Chicago Cubs, and he was a huge Komet Hockey fan. He enjoyed Sudoku puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, plus drawing and coloring with pencils.

Pat is survived by his three brothers, Michael (Elizabeth) Furniss, Ronald Furniss his wife (Judith Nastally), Thomas Furniss his fiancé (Vicki Schortgen); numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews; his uncle, James (Monica) Furniss; aunts, Eileen Fogel and Sally Hutchinson; and numerous cousins, especially Carol Kiep.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anne Home & Retirement Community, 1900 Randallia Dr, Fort Wayne, IN 46805, Saturday May 16, 2026, at 1:30 pm, viewing and visitation will be prior at 12:00 noon until 1:15 pm.
