Patricia A. Kohaut, 92, of Fort Wayne, died Sunday April 27, 2025 at Parkview Regional Medical Center following a beautiful long life and a very brief illness. Pat (Patsy) was born April 28, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre PA, the daughter of the late Leo and Bridget (Hayes) Raub. She married Charles J. Kohaut (Sr.) on May 28, 1955; he preceded her in death on January 6, 2016 after over 60 wonderful years of marriage. In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was also preceded in death by all ten of her siblings, her daughter, Kim Ann Kohaut-Kennedy; her grandson, Andrew Parent and her great-grandson Gus Boidock.
Pat is survived by her children; Rosemarie Boidock of Fort Wayne, Charles Kohaut, Jr. of Morristown NJ, Kevin Kohaut of Fort Wayne, Patti Kuntz of Rumson NJ, and Keith Kohaut of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces & nephews.
Pat was devoted to Our Lady of Good Hope Parish and her faith was the cornerstone of her family. She enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table with family & friends playing cards and doling out advice. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, bowling and socializing with her many valued friends & neighbors. Pat was as likely to be found watching the Mass on TV as standing in the garage at the very end of her oxygen line with the garage door open, making sure all was well in the neighborhood and that no one needed her.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 2 from 4-7pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am Saturday May 3, 2025 at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, with visitation from 10-11am in the church. The family's preferred memorial is St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, online at stjude.org or by mail to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
