Patricia Ann Stoody, 91, of Fort Wayne, died Saturday December 27, 2025. Patty was born in Napoleon OH on October 16, 1934, the daughter of the late Francisco "Frank" and Virginia (Muzzillo) DePaolo. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in Garrett with the Class of '53, Patty continued her studies to earn her certification as a Public Accountant. Together with her husband John "Jack" Stoody, they founded Stoody & Stoody Public Accountants. Jack preceded Patty in death in 2005. In addition to her parents and her husband, Patty was also preceded by her son-in-law, Elvin E. "Bucky" White; a brother, John DePaolo; and an infant sister, Rose Mary DePaolo.
Patty is survived by her daughters, Kathleen White, Diane (Don) Harter, Linda (Dick) Welch, Cynthia (William, Sr.) Magda, and Susan (Jody) Brinker, all of Fort Wayne; her grandchildren, Nicole (Cory) Federspiel, Brittany (Dustin) Screeton, Brian (Melanie) Harter, Stacy (Jonathan) Ware, Anna Welch, Patty Welch, Elizabeth Welch, William Magda, Jr., Andrew Magda, Joseph Magda, Katie Magda, Jody (Michaela) Brinker, Jr., John (Hannah) Brinker, Anthony Brinker, Maria Brinker, Maximilian Brinker, Gianna Brinker, Patrick Brinker, and Rita Brinker; her brother, Ralph (Carolyn) DePaolo and sister, Mary Rose (David) Kimmel, both of Garrett, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and also enjoyed her involvement with the Fort Wayne chapter of The Red Hat Society. Patty enjoyed traveling, especially visiting Mackinac Island and Lake Gage. She was an avid reader, who also enjoyed old movies and playing cards, board games and UNO with her grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am Saturday, January 3, 2026 in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd. with visitation from 9:30-10:30am in the church. Visitation is also on Friday from 4-8pm at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary at 3:30pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
