Paul E. Rice, 81, of Fort Wayne, died Monday December 25, 2023 at Majestic Care. Paul was born in Huntington on January 21, 1942, the son of (the late) James E. and Iva (Jackson) Rice. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and was an avid fan of IU Basketball; he enjoyed NASCAR and following his favorite driver, Mark Martin. Paul retired from Avis in 2016. He is survived by Barbara A. Rice, his wife of 31 years; his sons, David Rice and Michael (Hattie) Rice; daughter, Renee (Frank) Barrand; grandchildren, Jessica Leon and Mike Rice; brother, Gary Rice and sister, Pam (Jerry) Fabini, all of Ft. Wayne. He was also preceded in death by his son, Rick Rice; daughter-in-law, Laura Rice; sister, Shari Rice; and brother, James E. Rice Jr. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am Saturday, December 30, 2023 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 2304 Lower Huntington Rd. with visitation from 10-11am in the church. Visitation also from 4-8pm Friday at Divine Mercy Funeral Home, 3500 Lake Ave. with the Rosary recited at 4:00pm. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
